Your Building Exists In The Real World. Your Drawings Do Not Reflect It.

Existing Drawings Are Outdated, Incomplete, Or Missing Entirely

Most buildings have been modified since they were first drawn. Extensions, refurbishments, partition changes, and service upgrades happen over years without drawings being updated. When a design project begins, the as-built information your team needs either does not exist or cannot be trusted.

Design Teams Work From Assumptions Without Spatial Data

When reliable drawings are unavailable, architects and engineers estimate dimensions, guess ceiling heights, and make assumptions about how rooms connect. These assumptions create clashes, rework, and costly surprises during construction.

Traditional Surveying Is Slow And Disruptive

Conventional measured surveys can take days on site, disrupt building operations, and still take weeks to deliver. By the time the data arrives, project timelines have already slipped.

Repeat Site Visits Waste Time And Money

Without a complete spatial record, design teams return to site again and again to check dimensions, verify conditions, and photograph areas they missed. Every return visit costs time, travel, and project momentum.

One Scan. Every File Your Team Needs. No Repeat Visits.

A Single LiDAR Capture Produces The Complete Data Package

We scan your building once using Matterport Pro 3 LiDAR. From that single capture we extract the exact files your project requires. E57 point clouds, RCS ReCap files, 2D CAD drawings in DWG format, Revit BIM models in RVT format, and IFC files where needed. Everything visible in the scan is modelled or drafted to LOD 200 standards. One visit. Every deliverable.

Every Floor, Every Room, Every Corridor Is Captured

We plan the exact coverage your building needs before the scan begins. Key areas are captured systematically so the dataset is complete, connected, and ready for immediate use. If your building has it, the point cloud records it.

Built So Design Teams Can Start Working Immediately

Your point cloud opens directly in Revit, AutoCAD, ReCap, and other CAD or BIM software. CAD drawings are delivered in AutoCAD 2020 DWG format. BIM models are verified element by element against the point cloud, not generated by automation. The visual digital twin lets your team verify site conditions remotely without returning to the building. This makes point cloud to AutoCAD and scan to BIM workflows straightforward for your design and engineering teams.

What You Can Extract From A Single Scan

E57 Point Cloud. The Raw Spatial Data

The high-density E57 point cloud is the primary spatial dataset. It offers up to 100 metre range with 20 millimetre accuracy, suitable for architectural checking, tracing, and as the reference for all downstream deliverables. Opens in ReCap, CloudCompare, Leica Cyclone, and Trimble RealWorks.

2D CAD Drawings. Accurate Plans, Sections, And Elevations

We produce a tailored CAD package drafted for immediate use. This includes DWG, DXF, and PDF files covering floor plans, sections, elevations, and reflected ceiling plans. These are typically used for refurbishment planning, lease plans, and as-built verification.

Revit BIM Model. LOD 200, Verified Against The Point Cloud

We deliver BIM models in Revit RVT and IFC format. Everything visible is modelled to LOD 200 specifications. Elements are verified against the point cloud individually, we do not rely on automation. This makes the model reliable for retrofit projects, BIM coordination, and design workflows.

Visual Digital Twin. Remote Verification Without Site Visits

The scan also creates a navigable visual digital twin hosted in a secure browser. This allows design teams to visually verify site conditions without visiting the building. When reviewing clusters of points inside Revit, teams can instantly check the visual model to understand what they are seeing, without returning to site.

How Point Cloud Scanning and 3D Scanning Is Priced

Point Cloud Scanning Pricing in the UK

Pricing depends on site size, scanning complexity, and the deliverables you need. Small commercial fit-outs and single-floor scans start from £484. Multi-floor commercial spaces and residential developments start from £1,478. Heritage buildings, large industrial sites, and multi-building projects start from £2,976. Final quote reflects scan area, point density, deliverable format such as E57, RCP, or PLY, and any modelling work needed.

How Point Cloud Scanning Pricing Is Calculated

Three things drive your final quote. First, scan area and complexity: simple commercial fit-outs scan quickly, while heritage buildings or industrial sites with dense MEP services need more capture positions and longer processing. Second, point density and accuracy: standard surveys cover most needs, but tighter tolerances or higher LOD require longer scan time. Third, deliverable format and modelling: point cloud only is fastest; CAD drawings, BIM models, and Revit exports add modelling hours. Standard projects fall within the tier prices above; outside-of-norm briefs are quoted individually.

What Your Quote Includes

Every Point Cloud Scanning quote covers site survey planning, on-site scanning across the agreed area, registration and quality control, delivery in your chosen format (E57, RCP, LAS, PLY), and any agreed CAD or BIM modelling.

Heritage buildings, industrial sites, and multi-building projects are priced individually. Send a short brief describing the site and required deliverables, and you will have a fixed quote back the same working day. Typical questions we answer include point cloud survey cost and 3D scanning prices, which depend on floor area, scan density, and the deliverables you need such as point cloud to AutoCAD or Revit exports.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of most frequently asked questions about Point Cloud Scanning

What files do I receive when I order a point cloud scan for my building?

You can receive an E57 point cloud, RCS ReCap file, CAD drawings in DWG/DXF format, optional BIM files in RVT/IFC, and a visual digital twin accessible in a browser. The exact files depend on the scope you select.

Yes. Floor plans, sections, elevations, and reflected ceiling plans are drafted from the point cloud and delivered in AutoCAD 2020 DWG format.

Yes. We deliver BIM models in RVT and IFC format, modelled to LOD 200 from everything visible in the point cloud, based on the architectural, furniture, or MEP scope selected.

LOD 200 includes visible architectural elements such as walls, floors, ceilings, windows, and doors. Hidden services and internal wall construction are not inferred.

Yes. Visible HVAC ducts, plumbing fixtures, pipes, conduits, lighting fixtures, and electrical elements can be included when the MEP scope is selected.

Typical accuracy is in the range of ±10, 20 mm in interior environments, which is suitable for refurbishment, design coordination, and facilities planning.

Yes. The point cloud is commonly used as a modern 3D input for measured drawing and scan-to-CAD processes.

Point clouds open in Autodesk ReCap, CloudCompare, Leica Cyclone, and Trimble RealWorks. CAD and BIM files open in AutoCAD, Revit, Archicad, and Navisworks.
