La mia Mamma Notting Hill Virtual Tour on Google Maps

La mia Mamma Notting Hill Google Maps virtual tour

La mia Mamma is an Italian restaurant at 190 Kensington Park Road in Notting Hill.

Google’s official Street View already showed the restaurant at this address in January 2021. La mia Mamma had not moved, but the view outside no longer reflected the way customers approach and experience the restaurant today.

The pavement is now wider, there is more room for pedestrians and outdoor dining, and the current frontage feels more open to the street. Inside, the colourful dining room, window kitchen and distinctive decoration give the restaurant a warm character of its own.

360 View created a connected Google Maps virtual tour that brings these elements together. Customers can see the current entrance and outdoor setting, then continue inside and explore the restaurant before deciding whether to visit or book.

Would Customers See the Restaurant You Operate Today?

An address can be correct while the imagery around it is years out of date.

This is a common issue for established restaurants. A frontage may have been refreshed, a terrace added, the entrance changed or the street redesigned, while Google’s road level imagery continues to show an earlier version.

For customers, that visual gap can create small but important questions. Is this the correct entrance? Is there outdoor seating? What does the restaurant feel like inside? Will I recognise it when I arrive?

A current business Google Virtual Tour helps answer those questions with real imagery. It does not remove Google’s historical Street View. It adds a current view connected to the restaurant’s location on Google Maps.

Italian Family Cooking in Notting Hill

La mia Mamma began in 2018 after founder Peppe Corsaro invited Italian mothers to bring their regional recipes into a professional restaurant kitchen.

The Mammas cook alongside professional chefs, combining family knowledge with the organisation needed to serve a busy London restaurant. The concept gives customers an experience centred on regional Italian food, warmth and personality.

That character is visible throughout the Notting Hill restaurant. The virtual tour shows the illustrated wall map, exposed brick, warm lighting, colourful seating, floral decoration and tables prepared for service.

Rather than presenting these as isolated photographs, the connected tour lets visitors understand how the entrance and dining areas relate to one another. They can move through the restaurant at their own pace and build a more complete impression of the space.

Before the Street Changed

The official Google Street View car imagery below was captured in January 2021.

La mia Mamma is already visible at 190 Kensington Park Road. The important difference is the setting around it. Cars are parked directly beside the pavement, the kerb follows its earlier position and there is less room between the restaurant frontage and the road.

A Wider Setting for Pedestrians and Outdoor Dining

Since that image was captured, this section of Kensington Park Road has been reshaped.

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea streetscape scheme introduced wider footways to give pedestrians more room and support al fresco dining.

For La mia Mamma, the result is a noticeably different arrival. The current frontage sits within a more open pedestrian setting, and the outdoor dining area feels like a clearer extension of the restaurant.

The restaurant did not need to move for its appearance on Google Maps to become outdated. The environment around an established business can change enough to make older imagery less useful to someone planning a first visit.

Explore La mia Mamma Today

The new 360 capture presents the restaurant in its current setting and connects the arrival with the interior.

Customers can identify the frontage, understand the outdoor dining area and explore the dining room. They can also see the visual details that give the restaurant its personality before experiencing it in person.

What Customers Can Decide Before They Book

A restaurant is more than a menu. The setting, atmosphere and arrival can all influence whether a customer feels that it is right for their plans.

The La mia Mamma tour helps customers consider practical and emotional details before visiting:

  1. Whether they can recognise the restaurant and its entrance.
  2. How the outdoor dining area relates to the street.
  3. What the dining room looks and feels like.
  4. How the tables and customer areas are arranged.
  5. Whether the atmosphere appears suitable for the occasion they are planning.

The tour does not make the decision for them. It gives them clearer visual information so they can choose with fewer unanswered questions.

What This Project Shows Restaurant Owners and Marketing Teams

Outdated imagery does not always mean that Google shows the wrong business. Sometimes it shows the correct business within a street, frontage or layout that has changed significantly.

That distinction matters. A current Google Maps virtual tour can be useful when a restaurant has:

  1. Added or expanded outdoor seating.
  2. Refreshed its frontage or signage.
  3. Refurbished its dining room or bar.
  4. Changed the customer entrance or arrival route.
  5. Been affected by wider changes to the pavement or surrounding street.

For owners and marketing teams, the completed tour becomes a reusable visual asset. It can remain connected to the Google Business Profile, appear on Google Maps and be embedded on the restaurant website, reservation page, contact page or private dining page.

Adding a Current Google Street View Tour Without Removing Google’s History

Google’s official car imagery and a business virtual tour are separate types of Street View content.

Publishing a new restaurant tour does not delete or overwrite the January 2021 road view. Google can continue to retain that imagery as part of its historical coverage.

The business tour adds a current visual route connected to La mia Mamma’s location. This allows customers to explore how the restaurant looks now while the older street imagery remains available.

Google Maps Virtual Tours for Restaurants

360 View creates Indoor Google Street View virtual tours for restaurants, bars, cafés and hospitality venues across London and the UK.

We connect the exterior, entrance and customer areas into a clear walkthrough, publish the completed tour to Google Maps and provide the code needed to embed it on a website.

Photography can usually be planned before opening or during a quieter period so the restaurant does not need to interrupt normal service. The exact timing depends on the size, layout and areas being photographed, and is agreed before the visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can a restaurant look outdated on Google Maps even when it has not moved?

Google’s road level Street View is captured periodically rather than whenever a business changes. A restaurant may remain at the same address while its frontage, terrace, signage, entrance or surrounding street changes. The address can therefore be correct even when the imagery no longer represents the current arrival experience.

Does Google automatically update Street View after a pavement or streetscape project?

Not necessarily. Google decides when its official road imagery is recaptured and updated. A council project, new terrace or changed frontage does not automatically trigger a new Google car visit.

Can a restaurant virtual tour replace Google’s older car imagery?

No. A business virtual tour does not delete or replace Google’s official road imagery. It adds current 360 imagery connected to the restaurant’s Google Maps location, giving customers another way to see the business as it looks today.

When should a restaurant consider updating its Google Maps virtual tour?

An update is worth considering after a refurbishment, new signage, a changed entrance, a redesigned dining room, the addition of outdoor seating or a significant change to the surrounding street. The useful question is whether the existing imagery still helps a first time customer recognise and understand the venue.

Which parts of a restaurant should a Google Maps tour include?

The most useful route normally begins with the frontage and entrance, then connects the main dining room and other customer areas such as a bar, terrace, private dining space or reception point. The exact route should focus on the areas customers need to understand before visiting.

Does a restaurant need to close while the virtual tour is photographed?

Usually not. Photography can often be scheduled before opening or during a quieter trading period. The time required depends on the size and complexity of the venue, so the capture plan should be agreed in advance.

How can a virtual tour help customers before they make a reservation?

It allows them to preview the entrance, outdoor setting, atmosphere, table arrangement and relationship between different areas. This can reduce uncertainty and help customers decide whether the restaurant appears suitable for their visit, without guaranteeing that they will book.

Can the same Google Maps tour be embedded on a restaurant website?

Yes. The tour can be embedded on a restaurant website, reservation page, contact page or private dining page using Google Maps iframe code. Visitors can explore it without leaving the page.

Will adding a virtual tour guarantee a higher Google ranking?

No. Google does not guarantee ranking improvements from adding a virtual tour. The tour should be treated as accurate visual content that helps customers understand the restaurant and gives the business a more current presence on Google Maps.

Can an older tour be updated without photographing the entire restaurant again?

That depends on what has changed and how the existing panoramas are connected. A small isolated update may sometimes be possible, while a major refurbishment or changed customer route may require a new connected capture. The existing tour should be reviewed before deciding.
