Private Matterport 3D Tour for a Large London Entertainment Venue

Private Matterport 3D Tour for a Large London Entertainment Venue

A private Matterport project for a complex live venue

360 View recently completed a private Matterport 3D tour for a large entertainment venue in London, designed to host thousands of visitors and support highly technical live productions.

Unlike public facing virtual tours used for marketing, this project was created for private internal use. The client needed a secure, accurate and easy to navigate digital version of the venue.

It had to support internal planning, operational review, technical coordination and controlled access for approved stakeholders.

For privacy and security reasons, the Matterport model, venue name, screenshots, floor plans and internal project visuals are not published.

Capturing more than the public facing space

Large venues are far more complex than the areas visitors normally see. For this project, the Matterport capture documented operational, technical and guest facing spaces right across the venue.

  • Front of house and back of house areas
  • Back of stage circulation and connecting corridors
  • Production areas and operational rooms
  • Sound and lighting control spaces
  • Offices, changing rooms and private areas
  • Auditorium areas, balconies and bars
  • VIP spaces and guest facilities
  • Delivery access points, lifts and elevated platforms

The goal was not simply a visual tour. The purpose was a practical spatial reference that different teams could use to understand the venue remotely and coordinate work without always being on site.

Matterport for technical venue teams

A Matterport 3D tour is especially valuable for venues where many teams need to understand the same space.

For a large entertainment venue, a private Matterport model can support:

  • Internal planning and venue operations
  • Production and technical team coordination
  • Remote stakeholder review and contractor briefings
  • Maintenance planning and space documentation
  • Front of house and back of house familiarisation
  • Access, egress and operational circulation review
  • Visual reference for bars, balconies and guest facilities
  • Technical review of auditorium, stage and production areas

Because the model is visual, spatial and easy to navigate, it reduces repeated site visits and helps teams make faster, better informed decisions.

A challenging capture environment

This was a large scale and technically demanding Matterport project.

The venue had to stay operational around other scheduled activity, contractors and internal requirements. The scanning was completed across three separate visits, using capture windows agreed in advance with the client.

Some areas needed a more specialised approach. In the auditorium, elevated views captured production and technical detail more clearly, including overhead areas, lighting positions, speaker locations and other infrastructure used for live shows.

Working in this kind of environment takes more than placing a camera in each room. It takes planning, spatial awareness and an understanding of how complex venues are used by different teams.

Captured with the Matterport Pro3

The project was captured using the Matterport Pro3, which suits larger and more complex environments.

For venues, auditoriums and operational buildings, the Pro3 captures accurate detail across larger distances and demanding spaces. The same scan also produces precise measurement data, useful when a venue later needs point cloud scanning for as built documentation.

The result is a private 3D digital twin that lets approved users move through the space, understand the layout and review key areas remotely.

Secure, password protected access for private use

Privacy and security were central to this project.

The Matterport tour was not created for public marketing and is not available online for general viewing. Access was limited and controlled, with password protected viewing for approved users only.

This suits venues and organisations that want the benefits of a Matterport 3D tour without making sensitive areas visible to the public.

At 360 View, we create both public and private Matterport tours. Public tours support marketing, sales and customer engagement, often alongside indoor Google Street View for discovery on Google. Private tours are built for internal use, where discretion and operational value matter most.

A trusted partner for large venue projects

This project was completed for a returning client, following a previous venue capture by 360 View.

Being commissioned again reflects the trust this type of work requires. Large venues need Matterport technicians who work professionally, respect confidentiality, adapt to restricted access windows and capture complex spaces with care.

When a tour cannot be shown publicly, the strongest proof of quality is often the client’s decision to return for another project.

Private Matterport 3D tours for venues, theatres and event spaces

Private Matterport 3D tours suit complex spaces where teams need better visual access, but the model cannot be made public. This includes:

  • Arenas, theatres and music venues
  • Event spaces and conference venues
  • Hotels and hospitality spaces
  • Exhibition centres
  • Large restaurants and bars
  • Production spaces
  • Education and cultural venues
  • Multi level commercial buildings

For venue operators, production teams, facilities managers and property teams, a private Matterport model becomes a practical internal tool for planning, documentation and communication.
